Skilled Occupations List (SOL)
To be eligible for applying for a skilled migration visa, you should nominate an occupation from the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) valid at the time of lodgment of your visa application.

Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL)
Certain occupations from SOL are further categorized under Migration Occupation in Demand List (MODL). Occupations listed under MODL at the time of application will fetch additional Bonus points for applicants.

Generally applicants with an occupation in the MODL would qualify for skilled migration visa, if they pass the other basic requirements.
Sydney and Surrounding Area Skilled Shortage list (SSASSL)
If you are applying under any of the Australian sponsored visa categories and your sponsor lives in Sydney, then your occupation should be in the SSASSL for you to get the 15 points allocated for relative sponsorship.
SSASSL does not apply for Independent visa categories nor for applicants with sponsors living outside Sydney and surrounding areas.
