Employer Sponsored Workers Visa
Australian or overseas companies actively engaged in businesses in Australia, who are unable to meet their skill needs from within the Australian labour market, can sponsor personnel from overseas to work in Australia.
Overseas applicants cannot directly apply for these visas.
Companies based in Australia first apply for a sponsorship approval for a particular highly-skilled vacancy for which they cannot find a suitable candidate in the country.
Once the sponsorship is approved they can nominate a suitable overseas candidate, who then can apply for a temporary or permanent visa as applicable.
